The Camping Professionals Network is one of the most established NAYDO networks and this year is trying something new during the Power Hour (details below).   During Thursday's Philanthropy School following the Keynote Luncheon, camp professionals can participate in Impact Tour C sponsored by CampMinder. Advance sign-up and additional fee is required; transportation is provided to the YMCA Camp Letts for the tour from 2:15 pm - 6:15 pm.

Power Hour

Wednesday, April 1   
4:30 - 5:30 pm

Get acquainted with other Camp Professionals, hear recommendations on best workshops and Hot Topics to attend and learn more about this network. Group may choose to go out to dinner together afterwards. Highlight of the Power Hour will be a 30-minute presentation by Dr. Michael Ambrose of CampDoc on "What's New in Camp Safety and How Prepared is your YMCA."  It will cover everything you need to know from the 2019 American Academy of Pediatrics Improving Health and Safety at Camp Study. A recent policy statement from the American Academy of Pediatrics identified key areas to improve health and safety at camps. Dr. Michael Ambrose, lead author of this research, will review the results of the policy statement and how these results are not limited to summer programs and camps, but are relevant to all types of YMCA youth programs.

Philanthropy Forum: Camping Professionals

This session brings excellent and relevant examples of effective camp fundraising to the forefront. Participants will hear from camping professionals on their particular successes around capital, annual or endowment development and pertinent impact storytelling and communications. This session is an opportunity for camping professionals and Y staff with camps in their associations to discuss what they have learned, how they plan to implement it back home and what additional support they would like to see from NAYDO.
