NAYDO Impact Award
“The opportunity to recognize the outstanding work of our NAYDO colleagues.”
Established by the NAYDO Council in 2018, the NAYDO Impact Award is the highest individual award given for outstanding volunteer service. Its purpose is to recognize NAYDO members who are exceptional leaders in inspiring and strengthening the philanthropic culture of the YMCA. It is not an annual award but will be given when deserved. The first recipient was Carol Schmidt.
Carol Schmidt, CFRE, our first recipient of the NAYDO Impact Award has had an impactful career that began more than 40 years ago. The goal simply was to serve and make a difference.
Presentation of NAYDO Impact Award
Throughout 35 years of Y service – most of them spent as a NAYDO member and leader – she engaged current and future leaders, created life-long advocates, and sought contributions to positively impact the Movement. She served as NAYDO Council Chair in 1994 and ’95, the first woman to do so, and, she received the Eagle Award in 1996 when it was presented to individuals, not associations.
She’s a nationally-respected financial development professional, and she’s a donor to local causes that are meaningful to her. She continues her NAYDO Involvement as part of the 2019 Alumni and Retiree Team.
